The president of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), Mehmet Buyukeksi issued a statement suspending all professional football leagues under its supervision in Turkey. After an incident where a referee was attacked on the race track.

The incident occurred during a Monday ( local ) Turkish Super League game where the referee. Halil Umut Meler was hit on the left cheekbone by Faruk Goca , president of the Ankaragusu club. He was dissatisfied with his performance. As soon as the referee fell to the ground, he was repeatedly kicked by the president . The club was hot-headed and the local players were mixed up. Until the police had to intervene to stop the incident. Reinforced crowd control units were called in to set up shields to keep the referee team from the field safely because fans were throwing things from the stands.

Buyukecci said in a statement.  

“ Competitions at all levels of the Football League will be suspended indefinitely. ” 

“ Last night’s assault is a disgrace to Turkish football. ” 

The matter that happened caused the Minister of the Interior of Turkey, Ali Yerligaya to come out and make a statement himself saying that. It was unacceptable and that severe punishment must be given to President Goca. Who now claims to be maintaining body in hospital Including mixed players.
